Quick answer
A cursive name tattoo generator previews a name in many script fonts at once, on a skin-coloured background, so you can judge how the lettering will look before it is inked. Here you can compare fonts side by side, tweak slant and spacing, and download PNG or SVG files for free.

Choosing a cursive font for a name tattoo
Name tattoos are usually small, so the font has to survive both size and time. Monoline scripts such as Sacramento or Courgette keep an even stroke that stays readable at 2 to 3 cm. High-contrast copperplate styles such as Pinyon Script or Great Vibes look elegant but need more height, because their thin hairlines are the first thing to blur. Brush scripts add energy and work well for single words across the wrist or collarbone.
Read the name aloud from the card at arm's length. If any letter needs a second look, try another font or increase the size.
Placement, size and skin tone
The preview offers light, medium and deep skin-tone backgrounds so you can see how much contrast black or coloured ink will have. Longer names suit horizontal placements such as the forearm, collarbone or along the ribs; short names fit the wrist, ankle or behind the ear. Set the alignment and line height if you want a name above a date or two names stacked, then compare the cards again.
Remember that the screen is a guide, not a promise. Your artist will adapt the line weight to your skin and the chosen placement.
Getting a clean file to your artist
Each font card has its own PNG and SVG download. PNG keeps a transparent background that drops straight into a placement mockup; SVG keeps the outlines as vectors, so it can be resized for a thermal stencil printer without blurring. Turn on the outline option if you want a hollow version for tracing. Bring the plain spelling as well, especially for names with accents, apostrophes or uncommon letter combinations.
Frequently asked questions
Which cursive fonts are best for a small name tattoo?
Monoline scripts with open loops, such as Sacramento, Courgette or Dancing Script, stay legible at small sizes better than high-contrast copperplate fonts.
Can I see the name on my skin tone?
Yes. Choose light, medium or deep skin tone in the background menu to preview contrast.
Do accented names work?
Most fonts include common Latin accents such as é, ñ and ü. If a card shows a missing letter, pick a font with fuller character support.
Can I use the font for a tattoo legally?
Yes. All fonts here are licensed under the SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0, which allow use in artwork including tattoos.
